Newspaper

I have looked into the range of vocabulary and how it is used in local newspapers and have found that the writing style and vocabulary is formal and gives across the news with no thrills, this is not to say it is simple like a tabloid, however the words used in no way glorify news or make it exciting. I feel the reason behind this is because national newspapers are aimed at people who have allegiances with certain political parties, so they therefore have target audiences and can give some opinion rather than giving all fact. Whereas with regional and local newspapers they are aimed at an area so the newspaper has to give just that, news.
